Fr Phillip Kuruvilla is no ordinary priest! As part of the National Council of Churches in India, Fr Phllip has driven a remarkable change in the way various churches deal with HIV and marginalised groups. Priests now study HIV alongside theology.
They are empowered with information to enable them to support and educate their congregations. This approach has started the process of creating trust between marginalised groups, such as LGBT people, and religious leaders.
