Richard Howard, a regional specialist on HIV and AIDS in Asia for the International Labour Organisation, speaks about a project that is setting a new standard of workplace conditions for entertainment and sex workers in Cambodia.
Based on research, model workplaces were created to educate owners on healthy work practices beyond handing out condoms. It guards against violence and harassment, forces consumption of alcohol, long working periods without holidays and a lack of legal support. The policy has just been endorsed by the government of Cambodia.
